Brownie Points is also committed to sustainability and supporting organizations such as A Long Walk Home, a non-profit dedicated to ending violence against women and girls, and Project Row Houses of Houston. The latter organization is committed to promoting sustainable art and community enrichment in the historically Black neighborhood of Third Ward in Houston, Texas. This neighborhood is also where Rinny grew up, so the company has a special connection to their mission. Anjali Purohit, the founder and creative director of Studio Variously, has 15+ years of design and fashion experience in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Anjali is extremely passionate about artisan-based businesses and ethical wages, and as a keynote speaker at the United Nations Artisans Summit in 2016, her expertise is highly respected. She has successfully identified the growing importance of ethically made, sustainable products and has been successfully forging unique artisan partnerships in India and Nepal since 2016. Her company is proud to empower women in ethical manufacturing supply chains, with 80% of the workforce being women. She also actively supports women artisans in interior and rural pockets of India and Nepal, further demonstrating her unwavering commitment to the cause.
